I recently used NotebookLM to create a podcast from our News that Caught Our Eye and was impressed by how simple the process was.

I began by creating a new notebook, and pasting the links for each of the news items in there.

From there, a single click on the 'Generate' button was all it took for NotebookLM to transform the webpage's content into a fully produced podcast.

For those who prefer more selective input, NotebookLM also allows individual paragraphs or text snippets to be copied and pasted directly into the notebook, offering flexibility in how content is curated.

While NotebookLM provides a simple way to turn written content into podcasts, but it’s important to be aware of the risks, particularly AI hallucination—when the model generates content that’s incorrect or fabricated. In the recent podcast generated from our "News that Caught Our Eye" series, the AI discussed Brazil’s use of AI for deforestation and education, topics not mentioned in the original article. The model later admitted these were speculative, not fact-based. This example highlights a key limitation: while NotebookLM is powerful, users must carefully verify the accuracy of its outputs, especially for public content.

We've posted the AI-generated audio transcription as we usually do and also added the podcast here and on the News that Caught our Eye.
